Climate Suitability

We pulled this view before shipping because our current climate data — rainfall, temperature, frost and heat days — comes from K-Nearest-Neighbor to ~1,820 BOM stations across NSW. For a lot-scale map that's not credible enough: frost and extreme-heat days are especially elevation-sensitive, and a ridge-top property can differ markedly from the nearest valley station.

Why we're waiting

Per-lot climate needs gridded 30-year normals (SILO 0.05° or AGCD), applied as raster zonal statistics over each lot polygon — the same pattern we use for vegetation and carbon. The data ingestion prompt AGDSS-011 specifies this upgrade.

Until then, the Agricultural Property Report shows regional climate figures with an explicit caveat about station distance.
